La pioggia ed il brutto tempo di questo ultimo mese, che, per la gioia di sposi e spose (e wedding planner), si è presentata (e si sta presentando) puntualmente ogni weekend, mi ha fatto riflettere su cosa dovrebbe indossare un’invitata ad un matrimonio nel mese di giugno (sì, invitata perchè, si sa, gli uomini sono più fortunati dovendo parare sull’abito elegante che non da spazio ad inventiva “strutturale”).
The rain and the bad weather of the past month , which, to the delight of grooms and brides ( and wedding planner ) , has presented (and it is presenting ) every weekend , made me reflect on what a guest (woman, naturally) should wear in June (yes , a woman, because, you know , men are more fortunate having to get at an elegant suit).
Questa non è una lista di bon ton o diktat (che io odio profondamente), ma un semplice consiglio di buon senso per una stagione che può riservare delle sorprese, e chi vive qui lo sa benissimo!
This is not a list of etiquette or diktat (which I deeply hate) , but a simple advice of common sense for a season that may hold some surprises, and who lives here knows it very well!
Ecco quindi una lista di cosa l’invitata può (non “DEVE”!) indossare ad un matrimonio nei pressi di Verona e Lago di Garda nel mese di giugno:
- Che il matrimonio sia di giorno o di sera, consiglierei comunque un abito leggero, perchè se c’è una bella giornata ringrazierete il cielo di non indossare qualcosa di pesante dato che potrebbe presentarsi un caldo piacevole, se dovesse piovere vi rimando al punto seguente!
- In caso di pioggia con una stola o un coprispalle, si risolve alla grande, parola di freddolosa!
- Considerata la stagione, essendo giugno a fine primavera ed inizio estate, io verterei su colori pastello e chiari, come un pesca, cipria, tiffany, anche se (ed a questo punto scatenerò lo sdegno di alcune colleghe bon ton) non sdegnerei il classico nero che va bene per tutte le stagioni e….snellisce!!!
- Scarpe: qui si può spaziare dal sandalo alla decolletè, quindi armatevi di scarpe di scorta da lasciare in auto, se piove scarpa chiusa, se bella giornata sfoggiate le unghiette fatte!
- Collant: direi di no!
Here is a list of what a (woman) guest could (not “MUST”!) wear to a wedding near Verona and Lake Garda in June:
- whether the wedding is daily or by night, I would suggest a light dress because if there is a beautiful day you will thank heaven not to wear an heavy dress since it could present a pleasant warm, if it rains , I refer you to the next step !
- If it rains, you will stay well with a stole, I’m a person that feels the cold and I guarantee!
- Considering the season, being June half late spring and half early summer , I would deal with pastel and light colors , like peach, powder pink , tiffany blue, even if (and at this point I’will cause the indignation of some “bon ton” colleagues ) I would not avoid classic black that fits for all seasons and ….it slims down !!!
- Shoes: Here you can range from sandals to court shoes, so arm yourself with spare shoes to left in the car , if it rains closed shoes, though it is beautiful day sport your beautiful nails!
- Stockings: I would say no!
